Frequently Asked Questions
Q: You have age divisions for boys & young men?
A: Absolutely! We want to broaden the horizons of our youth as well as give them life skills. Young men will certainly benefit from participation in our program every bit as much as young women.
Q: Do you have higher titles than Queen/King? Do you double crown?
A: Miss America only has one title to award. In the tradition of the Miss America Organization, our highest title for each of our delegates is their divisional title. Each age division has optional events which are judged and awarded separately. It is possible for an age division winner to win their optional events as well. Additional awards may be given at the Director's discretion.
Q: What kind of prizes do you award?
A: It is our goal to provide awards that our own children would appreciate. Prize packages may vary, but will always be age appropriate.
Q: What do we wear?
A: Each competition category will have unique costuming requirements, however, we offer these guidelines for all contestants in all events:
Q: What events are mandatory?
A: At preliminary events, the only mandatory competition is our signature event: Blue Ribbon Wear. At the national pageant, each delegate competes in formal wear, on-stage interview and community involvement.
Q: What kind of Optional Events will there be?
A: At preliminary events: Photogenic, Portfolio and Talent (when offered). At the national pageant there are a variety of optionals to choose from.
